“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

When I was 16 years old a friend of mine in school named Liz asked if I happened to be seeing anyone.  I said that I had been dating someone but that just ended.  She, then, enthusiastically told me about her friend named Sergio.  She told me about what a sweetheart he was and she thought that he & I should meet.  I had never been set up through a friend and was a little skeptical, especially considering I had just gotten out of a relationship, but I said that I would be willing to meet him. Honestly, I said just that to make her happy.

Later on, Liz, another friend of mine named George, and Sergio came to my house. We stood outside & she introduced him to both me & my best friend to this day, Anai.  He seemed sweet.  Very silly, but still, sweet.  We talked for a little bit and it was time for them to leave so they got into their car.  Liz put him on the spot by asking him directly in front of me, “Are you going to ask her for her number??!”.. He did.. He called.. We became a couple.. broke up.. got back together.. have been on & off for 14+ years.  Yeah, do the math.  I just gave away my age.  LOL..

I know it may sound crazy being on & off for so long but sometimes you just need to be apart to grow individually, make mistakes, & to learn about life in general.  We were off for a year and a half this last time (& I do mean "last time".. enough with the breakups to makeup:) and then got back in touch this July.  We just became an official couple this past Friday, 11/11/11 at —The luckiest day/time of the century!!  Yup, I’m superstitious & he’s aware of it.  To me, he is the most loving, funny, genuine person in the whole wide world.    & me? Well, I’m the luckiest.
